What is the Atkins diet and how can it help you?
When Dr Robert Atkins first published his book,"Dr Atkins Diet Revolution", in 1972 the broad medical and nutritional community dismissed it as just another quack diet plan.

Maybe This Christmas Will Be Different….
April 29, 2005
Have you always dreamed of a Norman Rockwell Christmas - where everyone is singing Christmas carols and there is joy in the house? Alas, your Christmas memories are often filled with Uncle Joe getting drunk and your parents ending up in a fight. By the end of Christmas day family members are mad and no one is talking to one another.
Christmas can be very difficult if you grew up in a dysfunctional family and you choose to go home for Christmas. Often the holidays bring out the worst in families instead of the best. Old arguments that have never been resolved are reignited. Old wounds that you thought were healed are ripped open once again.
Is there anything you can do to truly make this Christmas different?
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Pray that God will give you the wisdom to know when to speak and when to stay quiet. Many times you won’t win the age old argument. Is it worth the fight?
2. Have realistic expectations about what will happen at your family gathering. Often we dream and envision things will be different and our dreams are crushed once again.
3. Limit your time or choose not to place yourself in toxic situations. If you will be putting yourself or your children in physical or emotional danger you may need to choose to stay home.
4. Remember and be with your "adopted family". Often people from dysfunctional families have extremely close friends who feel like family. I have had several people tell me about a friend who is like a sister or a mother to them. You may choose to spend Christmas with your "adopted family".
5. Remember your heavenly Father loves you unconditionally and that he can meet your needs, even when your earthly family does not meet your needs.
6. Recognize that there is a difference between forgiveness and acceptance of actions. You can and should forgive family members and others who have hurt you. That does not mean their actions were acceptable. Also, you can be cautious of putting yourself into situations where you could be emotionally or physically harmed once again.
7. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You may have made great progress in your own spiritual and emotional growth and find when you go home you are right back where you started. Dysfunctional family patterns have a tremendous pull. You can realign yourself when you return to your own home.
8. Make a conscious choice to raise your own children and live your life in a more healthy family. Decide what new Christ honoring traditions you want to start for your family.
9. Be open to and aware of other people who come from hurting families. You have a story you may choose to share of the healing that has occurred for you. You can give others hope.
10. Be aware that your own addictions may resurface. Those could include overspending, overeating, drinking, or drug use. Often we try to soothe our emotional pain by overspending or overeating.
Above all I pray you will be kind to yourself. Have realistic expectations of what Christmas will be for your family. Create your own good memories with your own family or your "adopted family". Remember Mary’s first Christmas was probably not what she expected. She probably did not plan on delivering Jesus in a barn, but what a blessed and glorious night. May God be your peace and joy this Christmas.

Getting What You Want
April 29, 2005
1. Recognize that you are the source of everything that you want.
Stop waiting to inherit it, win it; marry it, or expecting it to come from any source other than you. You can have anything that you want, all it requires it working with thoughts, feelings and intentions.
2. Understand that the process of attaining what you want (the how) is more important than the end result (the what).
It’s really a matter of personal growth, changing your thinking and expanding your beliefs about what you deserve to have. Once you have mastered the how, you can have what you want when you want it. It is the old adage about teaching a man to fish in order to feed him for a lifetime.
3. Don’t underestimate the power of your thoughts, emotions and intentions.
Your thoughts are the model of what you want. Everything that was invented in this world began as a thought in someone’s mind first. Emotions energize thoughts. The more passionately you want something, the more rapidly you bring your thoughts into form. Intention acts to direct you thoughts and emotions. The clearer you are as to your purpose or intention the more likely you are to get what you want.
4.Think about what you do want as opposed to what you don’t want.
I want a loving relationship is a far cry from; I don’t want to be alone for the rest of my life. I want an abundant life is not the same as; I don’t want to be poor. I want to be healthy is not I’m tired of being fat. Your thoughts form the model of what you want. Whatever you focus on is what you are likely to receive, as your energy follows your thoughts. We work perfectly to produce the results that we are getting, so choose to intentionally program the results that you really want.
5. Ask yourself what you think, having what you want, will give you that you don’t have now.
If you had more money, or a relationship or children or a better job, or were thinner, what needs or desires would be satisfied? Usually the underlying answer to this question is something like security, freedom, love, happiness or inner peace. Dig down until you get right to the essence or core of what you really want in your life.
6. Determine ways that you can bring the essence of what you want into your life right now.
Don’t wait to get what you want, how can you be happier, more secure, have more love or inner peace right now? Ask yourself what it would take to feel and believe these things now. If you think that being thinner would attract more love into your life, how can you attract more love now? Perhaps you can be more loving towards family, friends, people in need in your community. Perhaps you can start by loving, nurturing and pampering yourself more.
7. Act like you already have what you want in your life.
If you want a successful business then act as if you already have one. Visualize what you would look like, feel like, and think like, if you were already running a successful business. Each morning just before you get out of bed imagine you running your successful business; start a picture scrapbook showing your perfect life as you are running your successful business. Where will you operate it from ? your home, an outside office? Who will work with you? What services will you provide and to whom? What kind of income will it provide? What will you be able to do with this income for yourself, your family, friends, for your community? Put together an action plan that will move you in the direction of your dreams. Each night as you slide back into bed, ask yourself, "What did I do today that moves me in the direction of what I want?"

Russian Nesting Dolls - The Beginning
April 29, 2005
According legend, first nested doll prototype appeared in Russia in the late 19th century (believed to be year 1890), it was figurine of bold headed old man, Buddhist sage by the name of Fukuruma, on the island of Honshu, Japan.
According Hakone Town Office, Japan, products such as “Shichifukujin” and “Irokawaridaruma” have been created from Junitamago. “Shichifukujin” was shipped to Russia at the end of the 19th century, becoming a folkcraft called Matryoshika, or a doll having children. It is thought that Russian missionaries from the Russian church which used to be in Tohnosawa visited Hakone for the summer and took “Junitamago” back to Russia as souvenirs. Let us explain what Shichifukujin mean.
According Japan sources -
Japan`s Shichifukujin–usually identified as Ebisu, Daikokuten, Bishamonten, Benzaiten, Fukurokuju, Jurojin, and Hotei–are traditionally believed to bring good fortune and happiness to people. The seven have long been depicted in painting, sculpture, song, and dance and began to be worshiped as a group several hundred years ago. The practice of making a meguri, or pilgrimage, to shrines and temples of all the Shichifukujin during the New Year season became popular during the Edo period (1603-1868). Shichifukujin Meguri are still popular everywhere in Japan–including the Fukagawa and Kameido districts of Tokyo`s Koto-ku. But Russian nesting doll got another name and had a different meaning from the very beginning.
At the end of 19th century at Russia Children`s Education Workshop at Abramtzevo village near Moscow was established. Abramtzevo workshop started to produce dolls in traditional ethnic dress. That workshop collected dolls from all over the country and from countries abroad. Dolls series was designed to entertain childs and to give them knowledge of other ethnicities.
It is believed that Fukuruma doll inspired Russian artist S.V. Malyutin to produce first “Matrioshka” (nesting doll in Russian) doll. But Russian doll was different from original Japanese one. At Russia it became toy, game for childs, it depicted the chain of life, and got woman name.
It is the diminutive form of Matrona or Matriona. Therefore, Matroska, should be a feminine noun. “Matrona” is Bysantee and ancient Rome originated name, which means “well respected woman”.
Matrioshka appeared as synthesis of Buddhist sculpture, pre-Christian toys of Russia and Christian beliefs of 19th century.
Original, ancient Russian dolls was produced from solid piece of wood and depicted ancient - pre-Christian gods. That dolls was in fact, miniature ancient Indo-Iranian pagans, they depicted Horses, Cows, Birds, Humans. Once Bysantee Empire style Christianity appeared in Russia at VIII-IX century, that type of dolls was transformed into wooden figures of animals and Heroes of fairy tales, cause ” pagan toys ” was not Ok to use anymore. Russian Matrioshka produced from solid piece of wood too, but became nested, and depicts people, fairy tales heroes or animals - same as many centuries ago, but now - with Buddhist sence, nested.
Nested doll was very popular toy for childs cause it helps to develop motility of fingers, imagination, representation about the sizes and colors.
“Matrioshka” nested doll spelled differently outside Russia. Exactly, According to the spelling mat + ros (as in albatross OR as in metros) + ka (as in Alaska) [mę̀trɔ́skə, mę̀tróuskə] According to the original Russian word ma as in machine; tro as in tr in try + Yo in New York, but shorter and narrower; ska as in sh in ship + ka in Alaska [mətrʲóʃkə] —-

Potty Dolls to Accelerate Potty Training Success
April 29, 2005
Sometime the most effective training tool in rapidly accelerating the rate of your child’s training is a potty doll. This is drink-and-wet a doll with the internal plumbing that simulates the potty process for your child. Generally, dolls with an internal bladder are the most effective. This enables the youngster to gently press on the dolls tummy to make it pee. In order to get started see below:
WHAT YOU NEED TO BEGIN:
-A potty training doll that wets Potty Dolls Can Be Purchased Here
-A potty chair
“Big kid” underwear (instead of diapers) Lots of liquids for your child and the doll to drink
THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
Development: The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests waiting until 2 years of age to potty train.
Modeling: You can demonstrate or have the doll demonstrate the process of “going potty.”
Motivation: Find out who your child’s superhero is. The hero will provide the motivation in this process.
POTTY TRAINING INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: POTTY TRAINING DOLL THAT WETS
Your child will learn by teaching the potty doll how to go potty. Have your child name the doll and give it something to drink. Then walk the doll to the potty chair with your child.
Pull the doll’s “big kid” underwear down and watch the potty doll go potty together.
STEP 2: CREATE A POTTY PARTY!
When the potty doll successfully goes potty, throw a potty party! Make it a big blowout with party hats, horns and celebrate. Give lots of attention to the doll so that your child understands that going potty is a good thing.
Let your child know that when he/she goes potty, they will have a potty party too. Not only that, your child gets to call their favorite superhero to tell them what they just did!
STEP 3: NO DIAPERS, BIG KID UNDERWEAR
At the beginning of the process you placed “big kid” underwear on your child’s doll. Now it’s time to take away the diapers and put “big kid” underwear on your child.
STEP 4: DRINK LOTS OF FLUIDS
Give your child plenty of fluids to drink. The sooner he/she has to go potty, the sooner you can begin potty training.
STEP 5: NINE TRIPS TO POTTY WHEN ACCIDENT
Ask your child if he/she needs to go potty. Your child might say no and that’s OK. Because you’ve given your child plenty of fluids, he/she will soon need to go. If your child has an accident in their underwear, don’t scold him/her. You want this to be a positive experience.
Take your child to the potty, pull his/her underwear down, and have your child sit down. Do this nine times. This builds muscle memory and your child will eventually go.
STEP 6: CHILD CALLS SUPERHERO
When your child successfully goes potty, throw him/her a potty party. Most importantly, your child can now call his/her favorite superhero and tell the hero about what they just did! Enlist the help of a friend or relative to play the hero and take the phone call.
When your child has an accident, simply take him/her to the bathroom nine times in a row as you did before. This will continue to build his/her muscle memory. And don’t forget to keep up the positive reinforcement.
