Couristan Rugs A Name You Can Trust
 by: John Murray

Couristan has been a well known player in the carpet industry for more than 75 years priding itself in the quality rugs and carpets it supplies to consumers.

A two generation family ran business that was started by two brother ins 1926. Basil Couri and George Couri who named the company Couri Brothers. It began by importing fine handmade area rugs from Persia. The quality of the carpet was so important to these brothers that they made the long trip to Persia which took 32 days just to ensure they had the finest quality rugs to send home.

Some of their first shipments came from Smyma and were Sparta Rugs which then had their Couristan label attached to them. The name Couristan was derived from the company name Couri and the small region where the weaving villages were located called stan.

It wasn’t long after when the company began to expand it’s market and by 1927 they were importing rugs from India for resale. In the 1930s Couristan began to import hooked handmade Chinese rugs and Japanese braided rugs.

During the 1950s Couristan began importing quality broadloom rugs as well as a variety of area rugs. Each year their lines continued to grow and expand.

Today Couristan is still going strong providing over 25 collections of handmade area rugs from all around the world, as well as 60 collections of broadloom rugs. Their rugs are imported from Napal, Pakistan, and China, as well as many other areas. They still believe that there is no finer rug nor no rug of higher quality than a hand made rug.

They carry a variety of styles including traditional, trendy, elegant, casual, and antique looking rugs. They also carry a variety of Oriental rugs from a many different parts of the Orient. You’ll have so many choices it may be hard to decide.

You can choose from florals, Oriental, or Persian designs. You can choose from neutral to bold colors and different textures. You can also choose different loop styles such as the Wilton loop pile, fusion bonded loop pile or the Cut pile.

There is a style and cut for every home. You can reflect the personality of your room with no trouble. Couristan recognizes that your home decor says a lot about you and that your area rug can make or break the look of your room. So their goal is to provide you with plenty of choices. In fact you’ll have a hard time finding another company that has so many options. Remember of all those lines they carry there are hundreds of choices in each line.

Couristan’s Kashimar rug was introduced in 1961 and today it still remains their most popular rug. We all know that Oriental and Persian rugs are very expensive to buy but Couristan was able to design a power loom that was able to reproduce these styles and designs and Couristan was able to offer this style of rugs for a lot less than the handmade variety. There are an additional 20 lines to choose from in these styles.

So if you are looking for some beautiful area rugs be sure to give Couristan a chance to show you what they have to offer. There are many dealers around the country and they also have an excellent on line sight that will give you an idea of how many rugs they have to offer you. Grab a coffee because it’s going to take awhile!

There are quite a few excellent names in the industry and Couristan Rugs is definitely a company you can trust.

Expert Tips For Smooth, Healthy, and Beautiful Skin

July 30, 2007

Beauty of the skin starts from inside your body! Your skin needs fresh air, exercise, a proper diet, minerals and vitamins and it needs protection from the sun.

Many people just put skin cream on their skin, thinking it is going to make it soft and smooth. Skin cream on the skin feels soft and smooth, but if you want your skin to benefit from that cream, you need to dampen your skin first then add the cream. The cream will help retain the moisture in the skin.

Start walking and building up your muscle tone. Muscle tone will keep your skin from looking so saggy.

Keep your skin clean. Do not scrub your face. The face does not need scrubbing. And, neither does your back. In fact, the more you scrub on it, the more acne you can get and more trauma to your skin.

A warm face cloth with a non-chemical soap, patted. Then a good gentle rinse. You next dry your face by patting with a soft clean towel. You can actually not use soap on your face at all, especially if you have dry skin.

USE Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) as a perfect exfoliate for your face. A good cream should last a long time and not be expensive. Use it at night when you wash your face before going to bed.

It is derived from fruit, milk and sugar cane and when used on the skin it helps remove the dead skin cells, which will give your face a much younger, fresher look.

Easy, effective and cheap ways to do a mask are: Use an egg yolk and honey mask. Just mix one egg yolk with a little honey and spread it on your face and neck. When it dries, rinse it off. It makes your skin feel very soft.

Another one:

Use plain egg yolk. It is good for acne, too. Mix it up. Spread it on your face for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse it off.

Another one:

Take plain egg white, beat up the egg white, and then spread it on your face until dry about 20 minutes, rinse off with water. This leaves your face refreshed and helps clean the pores. You can make masks of many things that are right in your kitchen, such as oatmeal. Grind it up. Mix it with some skimmed milk and let it dry. Rinse well. Milk can attract bacteria so you don’t want to leave it on your face.

Ancient Chinese Secrets from Ning Hua: Wrinkles Reduction

Two tablespoons of fresh cucumber juice and same amount of egg white (about one egg), stir well, and then apply on wrinkles every night after cleansing. In the morning, rinse off thoroughly using warm water. Keep using for a month, your skin will be firmed, your wrinkles will disappear.

Pigment Fading:

5 teaspoons fresh tomato juice with 1 teaspoon honey, apply on the pigment, rinse off thoroughly. Keep using for 10-15 days; your pigment will fade away.

Fruit Mask:

Juice apple, cucumber and pear, mixed with flour, add a teaspoon of water, and stir thoroughly. Apply after cleansing, avoiding eye and mouth areas, leave on for 20 minutes and rinse off thoroughly.

Five Ways To De-Stress The Stay-At-Home-Mom!

Five Ways To De-Stress The Stay-At-Home-Mom!
 by: Jennifer Tarzian

As a stay-at-home mom, I often wonder why I get so stressed out. Before having children, I worked full-time and managed to be involved in multiple extra-curricular activities - none of which seemed to put me over the top. So why does being a mother and homemaker frazzle my nerves so much?

I think I may finally have the answer to this question. I’ve come to realize, for myself at least, that a well-balanced mood comes from a well-balanced life. When I used to work full-time, I had multiple different outlets in my life: home life, work, social groups, athletic groups, etc. If I was having difficulties in any one of these areas, it was ok because I had enough others in my life to even it out. As a stay-at-home mom, however, I have not given myself those outlets. When I feel bogged down at home, I have no where else to turn for relief. So what was I to do? I wasn’t going to go back to work or stop being a SAHM - I loved it too much. So it made me do some thinking and some research to figure out ways to manage my stress so I could maintain my sanity and enjoy my time at home that much more!

The first recommendation I have is to get regular exercise. Even if it’s nothing more than plopping your kids in the stroller and taking a few spins around the block. For more information on getting the proper amount of exercise, see Phil Beckett’s article, “Can Women Still Exercise While Raising a Family?” at http://www.youngparentsmagazine.com/articles/Can-Women-Still-Exercise-While-Raising-A-Family.htm

The next thing I recommend is to avoid high-sugar and other empty-calorie foods. You may not have much time to eat, so make sure you are getting a good supply of nutrients when you do. Active moms, especially those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, need to maximize the nutrients in the food they consume. Avoid fad diets and just stick to the appropriate helpings from the basic food groups. In addition to having more energy yourself, you’ll be setting a great example for your kids.

Keep a schedule. The more organized you are, the less likely you are to forget something at the last minute or miss an appointment altogether. These last minute mistakes cause an undue amount of stress and are easily avoidable with the proper planning. I recommend a simple day planner (which you can purchase from your local office supply store for under $20) to keep track of all your appointments, as well as household chores that need to be done.

Create a family budget. I know the number one thing that has caused stress in my life is worrying about money. Once I created a budget, however, that stress quickly diminished. By setting spending limits each month that are within our available income, I no longer have to worry if we’re going to come up short some month. Plus, make savings a part of your budget. This will help in the event there is a financial emergency.

Last but certainly not least, make time for yourself! Being a mom is a tough job and you deserve a break once in a while. In fact, you NEED a break! This can be any number of things. Personally, I like to schedule a date night with my husband each week. Or sometimes I’ll just curl up with a book. Either way, this is time spent purely for the fun of it. Each week you should schedule something fun to break up the monotony of all the work. Plus, it will give you something to look forward to.

The bottom line is this: the more stress and negative energy that comes from you, the more strained your household will be. Have you ever heard the saying, “When mama’s happy, everyone’s happy?” There’s a lot of truth to that statement. Our kids are a direct reflection of our attitudes, actions and emotions. The more we can do to maintain a level head, the more peaceful our home will be.

I hope you have found this information to be helpful and wish you a very stress-free day!

How to Set Effective Goals That Guarantee Your Success

July 30, 2007

In this article, I will be sharing with you the secrets to set effective goals that will guarantee your success. I wish you can apply it into your own goals setting. and wish all your goals come true.

So what is a goal? In my previous issues, I talked a lot about quantum creation , and manifestation. You have already know that the universe will always obey your order, take your instruction and turn it into the exact things you want. Believe it or not, you are creating all the time, the only difference is some of your creations are unconscious, and some are conscious. Unfortunately, most of our unconscious creation are not what we truly want, as a result, we are consistently creating what we don’t want, and end up with an unhappy life. A goal is something that helps you eliminate unconscious creation, and turns it into conscious creation. A goal is the order, or the command that you send out to the universe consciously, and as a result, you will get what you consciously want, and ultimately the ideal life that you enjoy living.

The process of goals setting is to help you get clear about want you truly want, turn your unconscious goals in to conscious goals so that you will be able to literally design your own life and have absolute control about your life.

You may have heard a lot about goals setting, and tried many types of goals setting programs. but most of them fail, The reason is not because the programs don’t work, the reason is because of your own beliefs and thinking. I can tell you any goals setting program works, even the most simple one, just by writing down your goals, you can achieve them. Why some people come out from a goals setting workshop with great result, but others with little or no results. This leads to today’s topic, what makes a goal effective?

What makes a goal effective?

First , your goals must be in harmony with your higher purpose. I believe that we all have a purpose in our life, this purpose has already be chosen even before we were born. Do you find yourself have some special talent, something that you enjoy to do , and you can it effortlessly, but others find it difficult? Do you find there is something that you enjoy doing so much such that the whole world suddenly disappear, the only thing exists is you and the things you are doing. At those moments, you are on purpose. Whenever you are in harmony with your purpose, you fell joy and happiness. A most effective goal must be in harmony with your purpose, this is the only way to ensure that you not only achieve your goal, but also enjoy the process. The The process become enjoyable, and you also feel the fulfillment. Yes you can achieve your goals without being in harmony with your purpose, but you will never feel successful even you have all the accomplishments, and all the achievement. The easiest way to find your purpose is to pay attention to what you are good at, and what you are enjoy to do. If you can’t find it yourself, ask your parents, ask your friends, ask your families. Everyone have a special talent, that is the reason you come to this planet.

Secondly, Your goals must be beneficial to the world. I am not trying to make myself honorable, but this is true, unless you goals are beneficial to others, you will not find anyone to corporate with you, the universe will also not work to your advantage. A selfish goal will never make it big. You can see from the biggest success in the world, all these people had a mission to make others life better, to help the world become a better place. How much better our life have become because of the computer? This makes Bill Gates become the richest man in the world. The more beneficial your goal is to others, the more value it will produce, and the more achievable it will become.

Thirdly, your goals must be supported by your own subconscious beliefs. Do you have an experience that you set a goal, and you did everything to make it happen, and at the last minute something happened, and it destroyed everything, your desires suddenly disappeared, and you went back to your comfortable zone? I did have this kind of experience, I did not know why until I realized that I was holding some subconscious beliefs that are contradictive to my goals. That means I wanted something, but my subconscious mind didn’t. Your contradictive subconscious beliefs will create negative blocks that are extremely hard to break, this is why a simple task sometimes becomes very big in your mind, you dare not to take any action. An effective goal must be in harmony with your current subconscious beliefs. You beliefs can change overtime due to your experience and the books you read, but you can never achieve anything that is bigger than your current beliefs. If your belief says that you can only make $1000 per month, you don’t set a goal of making $1 million dollar per month. Set a goal that is believable to your subconscious mind, once you have done $1000 dollar again and again, and you are so comfortable with it, your subconscious mind will start to believe the possibility to make $10,0000 dollars per month, and your goals will grow bigger and bigger from there.

How to test whether your goal is supported by your subconscious beliefs or not? I learned a simple test from Dr Robert Anthony, the legendary peak performance expert. The test is very simple, you draw a vertical line on a blank piece of paper, on one side, you write Yes, and on another, write no. Take a piece of string, tie something on one end to make an pendulum, hold your pendulum directly above the vertical line. Ask yourself the question ” Can I achieve the goal of …”. If you subconscious mind thinks it is possible, your pendulum will go to the yes side, and if not, it will go to the no side. I just want you to know that your subconscious mind does not always agree with your conscious mind. This test can only be used as a guide, don’t rely too much on the result you see from this test, because it won’t be 100% accurate if you only use it once or twice. Dr Robert Anthony has discussed in details about the conscious and subconscious contradictions in his audio program “Know How to Be Rich”, I am amazed by his deep understanding of the human mind and the universal laws. You can get a copy of this program from (http://www.theultimatesecrets.com/Robert.htm)

Fourthly, goals must be exact. As I have said that your goal was the command you send to the universe, so for the universe to be able to execute your command, it must understand exactly what you mean. ” I want more money” is only a wish, not a goal. The universe could not know what you want if you just tell it “I want more money”, OK, you want more money, here is one cent, take it. Since you want more money, one cent more is also more. The universe does not know how to fulfill your desire if you don’t tell it exactly. A real goal is something like this ” I intend to manifest $10,000 dollars by 31 Jan 2005″,” I intent to set up my company by 1 March 2005″. Don’t confuse the universe by an unclear goal. Ask for something specific, and the universe will end up giving you the specific result.

The fifth element for an effective goal is that your goals must be compelling enough so that it will trigger your emotions every time you think about them. Emotion creates motivation, motivation leads to action, and action will give you result. How much result you get depends on the quality of your emotion. Positive emotion create positive results, negative emotion creates negative results. From scientific point of view, positive emotion sends out positive vibration, and will attract back positive results with the same vibration frequency. Be careful how you feel, because you are creating the same results as you feel.

I hope this article gives you some ideas how to make an effective goal, and you may want to modify a bit your goals to make them more effective. Wish all you goals come true

Reading Labels:Understanding Fiber, Fat, Carbohydrates, Etc

July 30, 2007

Since 1994, food manufacturers have required the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to include food labels on all packaged food items. Labels can be a tremendous help in controlling our diets-but only if we understand them. Here is a primer to use as you browse the labels in your panty and at the grocery:

Serving Size. The serving size is listed at the top of the label. This is an important part of meal planning and also where many people go wrong. To get the total number of carbs, calories, etc., in an item, simply multiply the listed units by the number of servings. You may be surprised at how many items you assume are only 1 serving that are actually 2 or 3. The smaller the item, the more likely you are to make mistakes.

Calories. Calories are the units of energy within a food item. When you eat, your body converts calories into energy, uses what it can, and then stores the rest in the form of fat. On labels, you’ll find separate numbers for calories and calories from fat. The fat calorie number refers to the number of calories derived from fat. The higher this number, the more fat in the product. For example, a can of diced tomatoes may have 30 calories (units of energy) and 0 calories from fat, making this a product your body can use efficiently. However, a prepackaged children’s snack may have 130 calories with 40 calories from fat, making the processed food item a less efficient source of body fuel.

Daily Percent Values (% DV). These tell you what portion of the recommended amounts of an item (fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, etc.) are in a single serving in comparison to how much you need for a full day. You should take this number in account when selecting items from the grocery shelf. For example, it you are going to buy a bottle of pasta sauce, and Brand A provides 11% DV of fat and Brand B provides 40% DV of fat, the best choice is Brand A. Be sure to look at the numbers in the context of all the others on the label. If brand A turns out to be heavy on the sodium, you should continue to shop, taking a look at Brand C and Brand D.

Fat, Sugar, Fiber, Sodium and Carbohydrates. These are the sections of the label that seem to draw the most attention from dieters. However, everyone should consider them important. If you have dietary food restrictions, high blood pressure, or diabetes, these numbers could mean the difference between remaining in good health and heading towards the danger zone. If you are on a low carb diet, you can monitor your protein intake by paying attention to the carbohydrate and sugar content. Likewise, those on a low fat diet will want to know the fat and fiber content.

The FDA provides information on what specific label terms are supposed to mean.

"No fat" or "fat free" means that the item contains less than 1/2 gram of fat per serving, "Sugar free" means that the item contains less than 1/2 gram of sugar per serving, and "Good source of fiber" indicates 2.5 g to 4.9 g. per serving. A full list can be obtained from the FDA website. You’ll note that there is no definition for "low carb," so be particularly wary when this phrase is used.
