Digital cameras are becoming more and more popular as time goes by. As a scrapbooker, I find it easier to store and organize digital photos then regular photos. This is how I organize them.
After loading your photos onto your computer, create folders. Copy and paste photos by date and event. I like to even take this a step further and copy and paste what photos I want per layout. So when it’s time to scrapbook, I simply look at my different folders and decide which one I want to work on. I then look to see how many pictures there are and figure out a layout that would work well. I take in consideration different sizes I could print the photo, with regular film processing you can’t do that. I then print out only the ones I want to work with.
With digital photos, you can crop, trim, or change color tints on your photos. Think black and white photos would look better then the scattered colored photo? No problem, simply got to your photo editing program and play with the coloring. If the subject of your photo is off center or something distracting is in the picture, use your photo editing program to crop or zoom in.
Digital photo is the way to go! They are so much easier to work with and take up only computer space!

As we get older our skin produces less of the natural oil that helps it retain its moisture. There are many contributing factors that can dry our skin. For example, excessive bathing in hot water, or very dry air can cause your skin to become dry. Dry skin can be prevented. The key is to seal moisture into the skin.
For women, their skin is one of their most treasured assets. Poor skin can send a woman into a complete frenzy. Women understand that their skin is the very first thing others see and notice, making a first impression of you before you ever speak.
Many women fight to find a good skin care program. Misinformation often leads us down the wrong path. We struggle to combat one problem and often create another.
Most important is the nutrients our skin receives. Like the rest of our body our skin requires vitamins and minerals to stay healthy. To ensure your skin is getting the right nutrients and the rest of your body too, follow the recommended food intake guideline, and take a multi vitamin daily.
The loofah sponges have become very popular in the past few years. And yes they are wonderful at removing dead skin. The problem is it also removes the natural oils from your skin. Without these oils you become dry and flaky because your body is unable to naturally lubricate new skin layers. This is where we get into a vicious circle ? we use the loofah more to remove flaking skin then we flake more. My recommendation is to not use your loofah more than twice a week and to then apply moisturizer directly to your damp skin.
Water in itself is drying to the skin. It is best to avoid really hot showers, use a moisturizing cleanser and stay away from harsh soaps. Pat dry and immediately apply a moisturizer to your body. The moister the skin, the better. Water is moisture, so trapping water between the moisturizer and the skin is good for the skin.
You can also use alpha-hydroxy products on your face. These products help remove dead dry skin and hydrate the new skin beneath. A word of caution ? Do not over use these products.
If you have cracked skin on your hands you need to limit the amount of water your hands are exposed to. The more water on your hands, the harder it will be for them to heal. Use heavy moisturizing hand creams to help seal the moisture into the skin.
Recent studies by Duke University show that Vitamin C promotes collagen growth. Collagen is responsible for giving skin its elasticity and keeping it smooth and wrinkle free. The more collagen in the skin, the younger it will look.
Oxidation is also a contributing factor to the skin’s aging process. Oxidation is caused by things like overexposure to the sun and heavy detergents, soaps, and chemicals. It’s very important to use an antioxidant to nourish the skin so that it can better combat these contributing factors. Beta-Carotene is a very effective antioxidant.

“But if in your thought you must measure time into seasons, let each season encircle all the other seasons, And let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing.”
- Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)
The low afternoon sun cast soft rays through a cool October breeze. Tall maples filled the park with fiery shades of orange and gold. These colorful trees conveyed feelings of strength and peace.
Two children darted across a carpet of crackling leaves. They shouted gleefully, pretending to be a prince and princess. They were filled with the bubbly joy of anticipation that children feel during the spring time of life.
At the same time, the brilliant maples reminded me that autumn can be filled with anticipation of beauty and strength. In all seasons of life, there are wonderful treasures to expect.
What will happen between the spring and autumn of your life? What will you do to experience the peaceful strength and fruitful harvests that an inspired life brings?
One of the first things we can do is sow good-quality seeds of faith and action. We can gain skills and knowledge. Then we can keep those skills sharp and polished by continuing to learn.
The seasons have no lack of time; each is balanced within a cycle of birth, growth and rest. Likewise, the only time we lack is that which we fail to use for worthwhile purposes.
Each of us have different priorities and degrees of discipline for balancing the use of time. When we say yes to one thing, we say no to something else.
The harvest will arrive in due season whether bounteous or lean. It can bring satisfaction of a job well done. It can convey contentment and strength as life prepares to rest, anticipating another spring time.
Ask yourself, “What seeds will I sow today that will yield a bounteous harvest? What will I say “yes” to today?
If you sow quality seeds of thought, faith, and action today, your harvest can be plentiful, and the autumn foliage brilliant. May your autumns bring all the joy, strength, and prosperity that you’ve ever wanted!
Wishing you blessings and success!

Vasectomy Reversal - A Personal Story
by: Roy Thomsitt
This article is a very personal one, but one I wanted to share with you, as there are always tens of thousands of men considering whether to have a vasectomy reversal.
The desire for a vasectomy reversal can come from two main causes: divorce or relationship break up, and a change in financial circumstances that makes having a baby affordable whereas before, at the time of the vasectomy, it may not have been.
Most commonly, men have a vasectomy in marriage, when they or their partner, or both, have decided they do not want any more babies. The reason does not matter, really, the fact is they have the vasectomy because of that particular relationship.
Should a couple make a decision to have no further children then a male vasectomy is the best option. It is a simple outpatient operation. I always compared it to going to the dentist, except you open your legs instead of your mouth. It is also quite painless, although in my case I did not appreciate the painkiller wearing off while I was driving home, after I was assured it was going to be ok. Using the clutch was not a bundle of fun for the last few miles. But the vasectomy was done, as it is commonly every day for thousands of men around the world. At the time, I never gave a thought for vasectomy reversal in the future.
Many years later I was divorced, and it was not long before I was thinking about having the vasectomy reversed. I was in England then, but later in 1998 I decided I would probably move abroad. I eventually decided on the Philippines as the most suitable country that I would settle in the quickest.
In 1999 I started researching vasectomy reversals, but there were not many places in the UK that I could find on the internet at the time. Eventually, I did find one in my own county, Dorset, so I quickly earmarked that for my eventual vasectomy reversal. By that time, I was firmly of the idea I wanted more children.
In July of 2000, I visited the Philippines for 3 weeks to check out a few possible locations to settle in, and to confirm to myself that it would be the best place for me to live. As it turned out, it was way beyond expectations. The beauty, the friendliness, the warmth, the character of the place and the people, all told me that I was going to the best possible place to escape the cold miserable climate of England.
After the visit, I gave myself just 6 weeks to get myself organised, personally, financially, and business wise, to leave England for good. I knew that getting a vasectomy reversal was not likely to be possible in the Philippines, so if ever I was going to have one, it had to be there and then, while still in England.
I fixed the vasectomy reversal operation for just 3 weeks before I left the country. It was a short outpatient visit to a private hospital some 25 miles away. The operation was done under full anaesthetic, and I recall it being a very relaxed sort of day. By then I had sold my car, and had to rely on a taxi to get me to the hospital and collect me. The lady driver was very sympathetic, and actually very supportive, helping to make it more of a day out than a trip to hospital.
The surgeon was making no promises about the success of the vasectomy reversal, and my chances of fathering any more babies. He told me beforehand that he could usually tell, as soon as opening up a man, whether or not he was likely to have sufficient sperm to produce a child. I wondered what chances he thought I had, but I never saw him afterwards to ask.
My next contact with the surgeon was in 2003. I had been in the Philippines 3 years when I met Mary Ann, my wife. Within 6 weeks of our living together, she was pregnant. I was absolutely over the moon, and one of the first people I told was the surgeon. I also passed on my profound thanks for our little miracle, a baby daughter who now brings delight not just to us, but everyone who meets her.

Finding The Right Window Treatment In Los Angeles And Chicago
by: Sarah Peters
Some of the most unique and individual décor consultants can be found in smaller centers, but for a truly competitive field that will supply window treatments for your home, you’re looking at the larger cities like Los Angeles and Chicago.
Larger dealers have more contacts, often further afield both in distance, and in tastes, so that they can lay their hands on virtually any accessory, material, or extras that you need to create the right window treatment.
Of course, even large centers will have to consider not just the variations in the decorative aspect, but also in their functionality. A window treatment that works well in Los Angeles, might not be suited to the weather extremes of Chicago. Where one can use sheers year round, the other may require a good quality lined drape to not only offer privacy, but to keep out winter cold that can seep into a room from the glass.
Wherever you live, window treatments are going to be a major component of your home décor, and you want it to turn out just the way you imagined. Sometimes it means doing all the work yourself, to get every detail as you envisioned it, and occasionally it may mean ordering drapes or extras from consultants who design window treatments in places like Los Angeles or Chicago.
Whether your window treatment is a stand alone, or cooperative effort, the results will be exactly what you want, and in the end, that’s what really matters.

Sofa Slipcovers - Give Your Home An Instant Makeover!
by: Caroline Smith
Sofa slipcovers are designed to be easy to fit over your existing upholstery, to give your furniture a fresh new look and protect the fabric underneath. If your favorite sofa is looking a bit tired or outdated, but is generally in good condition, you could give it a new lease of life simply by adding some stylish sofa covers. Furniture slipcovers are a quick and affordable alternative to re-upholstery or buying a new suite. A well made sofa slipcover can be bought for under $200. If you want to improve the appearance of your sofas or chairs, without a lot of inconvenience or expense, slip covers could be the answer.
Ready made slipcovers for sofas are large sheets of fabric made to cover the whole sofa and are held in place with elastic or ties. Many people like to have several sets of these relatively cheap slipcovers, so they can change the look and feel of their entire room whenever they like. Most sofa slip covers are made from durable fabrics such as, stretch cotton or twill, that can easily be washed clean in the machine, so there’s no need to worry about them getting dirty. And there are so many different slipcover patterns to choose from, you’re sure to find a style that fits in with your decor and color scheme.
For a more fitted look, custom slipcovers are a slightly more expensive option. Custom made or fitted slipcovers are specially cut to fit your furniture’s exact measurements, and you can completely change the style of your sofa if you wish. For example, you could choose to hide the legs with a pleated skirt. Custom fit covers are often a good choice if you’re looking for sectional slipcovers. There are lots of online stores selling top quality furniture covers, such as Surefit slipcovers, in a huge range of designs at great prices.
And it’s not just sofas - all kinds of seats can be slipcovered. The choice includes ottoman, loveseat, recliner and dining chair slipcovers. With slipcovers you can smarten up all your favorite chairs in a matter of minutes!
